United by a passion for safe, authentic storytelling, our instructors share decades of experience across theatre, film, television, and live performance, helping performers develop confidence, precision, and professional excellence.
Daniel Levinson, founder of Rapier Wit, has been performing, directing, and teaching stage combat since 1991. A graduate of York University’s BFA Acting Conservatory, he is one of only eight Fight Directors Canada Fight Masters and has choreographed fights for renowned productions including the Stratford Festival, Canadian Stage, and Broadway’s Jesus Christ Superstar. Daniel has also taught at leading universities, colleges, and international workshops, making Rapier Wit Canada’s oldest stage combat school and production company.
Nathan is a certified stage combat instructor and graduate of the UTM/Sheridan Theatre and Drama Studies program. A longtime assistant at Rapier Wit, he was among the first non-student recipients of the Fight Directors Canada – Paddy Crean Award. Nathan has directed fight choreography for numerous Toronto productions, including Hart House Theatre, and brings extensive experience teaching stage combat in schools, workshops, and professional theatre.
Richard is an Indigenous performer and fight director. He is the first and only Indigenous-identifying Certified Fight Instructor with Fight Directors Canada. Instructor/resident fight director at Centre for Indigenous Theatre; fight instructor/company member at Rapier Wit Stage and Screen Combat. Tammy Everett is a certified Fight Director and Fight Instructor with Fight Directors Canada. A singer, actor, actor-combatant, and martial artist, she has performed across Canada, the USA, and Europe. Tammy has directed fight choreography for productions including Cabaret, Les Misérables, Don Giovanni, Bridges of Madison County, and August: Osage County, bringing a strong focus on safety, storytelling, and actor development.
Erick is a certified Fight Directors Canada Fight Instructor, bilingual actor, stunt performer, and martial artist based in Toronto. He teaches at George Brown College and Rapier Wit while choreographing fights for stage and screen. His credits include Ghost: The Musical, Hamlet, Jawbreaker, Killjoys, Super Spies, and 11 Blocks, bringing expertise in performance, combat, and actor training.
Louisa is an actor and stage combat artist based in Toronto. She is a Certified Fight Instructor with Fight Directors Canada (FDC) and has taught at numerous secondary and post-secondary schools around the city. She has also served as a fight director and movement consultant on many productions, working in both Canada and the United States. As an actor, she has trained at the University of Toronto’s University College Drama Program and the British American Drama Academy. Louisa is also a martial artist and has been training since 2012.
